Upload short videos in bulk and publish them

Upload up to 100 short videos at once from a computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or S3, add AI titles and captions, and review them in Curate before they publish.

Uploads is for short videos you already have, such as product clips, creator content, or an archive from another platform. You add the files, choose the enhancements and the destination, and click Import.

Genuin transcribes each video, adds captions, a title, and a description from the transcript, and converts it to vertical. Each video then waits in Curate > Activity in Brand Control Center (BCC) until you approve it, unless you choose to publish automatically.

Approved videos follow the same moderation rules as every other post, which you set in Control. For the whole product, see Control: what it does and where to start.

To upload through the API instead, see Post a video to a group. For a long video that needs cutting first, use Clip It.

Video requirements

RequirementLimit
SourcesFiles from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or an S3 bucket
Formatsmp4, mov, avi, wmv, mkv, webm
File sizeUp to 2 GB per file. Larger files are refused before upload.
DurationLess than 300 seconds per video. The check runs during processing, after the upload.
Files per importUp to 100
Aspect ratio9:16. Genuin converts other ratios: it scales the video to fit a 1080×1920 frame over a blurred, darkened copy of itself.
SpeechCaptions, the title, and the description come from the transcript. A video without speech imports without them.

Feeds have their own import flows. See Import videos from an RSS or MRSS feed and Import videos from a JSON feed.

Add the videos

  1. In BCC, go to Curate > Activity and click + New Post.
Step 1: Start a new post from Curate > Activity.
  1. Choose Uploads.
Step 2: The Import Videos page, reached from + New Post.
  1. Drag files onto the upload area, or click Choose files and choose Your Computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or S3 Bucket. Each file shows a progress bar. A file that fails the size or format check is marked with the reason and skipped.
Step 3: The Uploads page, with the Choose files menu open.

Choose the enhancements

Select the enhancements you want. They apply to every video in the import. For how Genuin drafts titles and captions across products, see Captions, Titles, and Brand Voice.

OptionGroupWhat it does
Show Title on VideoIn-Video FeaturesAnalyzes the video and writes a relevant AI-generated title of up to 60 characters on it for its full length, so viewers see the topic at a glance. Genuin skips the title when Smart crop is on.
Add background musicIn-Video FeaturesAdds a music track under the audio.
Show captionsIn-Video FeaturesBurns word-timed captions from the transcript into the video, so viewers follow it with the sound off.
Add descriptionMetadata FeaturesGenerates a 40 to 50 word post description from the transcript, which helps search and content organization.
Smart cropAdvancedDetects the person speaking and reframes a landscape video around them instead of adding the blurred background. Portrait videos stay as they are. Best for interviews and talking-head videos.
Add clickbait thumbnailAdvancedPicks the best frame and overlays attention-grabbing text about the video's topic, as the post thumbnail.
Merge videos into clipsAdvancedNot available. The option is disabled.

Note

In the current release, Add background music has no effect: videos import without music whatever you select.

Under Caption style, choose how captions look:

  • Best fit lets the AI choose a style for each video, with placement and formatting that keep captions readable without covering the video.
  • Custom applies one preset to every video in the import, to keep captions consistent with your brand. The 15 presets are Default, Courage, Focus with karaoke, Hustle, Multi color, Play, Play pitch, Sliding background, Typewriter, Transparency, Lella, Leon, Karl, Pacific, and Assemble.
The preset caption styles and the Advanced options.

With Add clickbait thumbnail on, each video gets a thumbnail like these:

Clickbait thumbnails: a frame from the video with a generated hook line.

Watch each enhancement on a real upload: the AI title, captions, background music, and smart crop.

Import the videos

  1. Under Import in, choose one or more communities in Community and the groups within them in Group. To let Genuin route each video to the best match from its content, choose Auto-curated Community or Auto-curated Groups. Genuin creates a group if none fits. Learn more in Add and curate content in AI-generated communities and groups.
Step 1: Choosing the communities and groups the videos go to.
  1. Choose how the videos publish:
    • Click Import to create them as drafts. They wait in Activity under Awaiting to post, and nothing publishes until you approve it.
    • Click Publish Settings to skip the review. Choose Auto Publish to post each video as soon as it's processed. Or choose Schedule, pick a date, a time at least 1 hour 30 minutes ahead, and a time zone, and click Import & Schedule.
Step 2: After the upload completes, click Import or Publish Settings.

BCC returns to Activity filtered to Processing. Genuin processes the videos with the settings you chose. Processing continues if you leave the page, and you get a notification when the import completes.

Track the import

Go to Curate > Activity Logs and select Uploads. Each file is a row with its Name, Imported by, Source, Date, Import status, and Posted status.

  • Import status is Completed or Failed. Completed means the video imported and is ready for review in Activity. A Failed row carries the reason, such as the 300-second limit.
  • Posted is Yes or No. It turns to Yes once the video is approved and published.

Filter the list by upload date, status, or source.

The Uploads tab of Activity Logs.

Review and publish the videos

Every processed video goes through review before it publishes. Genuin suggests a community name and a group name for each video, and the video appears in the suggested group.

  1. Go to Curate > Activity. The tiles count videos by state: Awaiting to post, Processing, Scheduled to post, Approved, and Rejected.
Step 1: Processed uploads waiting under their community and group in Activity.
  1. Click Awaiting to post, then click Filter and choose Uploads. The other sources are Social Import and Clipit, and the list labels uploads Direct Import.
  2. Switch views with the two icons at the left. Community View groups videos under their community and group. Task View lists them as a flat grid with the actions beneath.
  3. Select a video and click Approve to publish it now, Schedule to pick a time, or Reject to discard a video that doesn't meet your content standards. To act on several at once, select Select All on the group.
Step 4: Actions for the selected videos in the list view.
Step 4: Approved and rejected videos in a group.

Approved videos publish to the group as posts and pass through content moderation like any other post. To publish uploads without manual review, see Set up automatic content approval.

View a video's details

Check a video and its generated details before it publishes.

  1. Click View on the video's thumbnail.
Step 1: Open a video with View.
  1. Watch the video and review its generated title, description, and transcript. You can edit the description up to 2,000 characters. Post to shows the community and group, and Will be posted by shows the account the post comes from.
Step 2: The review panel opened with View.
  1. Click Approve or Reject.
Step 3: Approve or reject from the details panel.

Move a video to another community or group

If the suggested community or group doesn't fit, move the video before you approve it.

  1. Select the video and click Move.
Step 1: Move sends the selected videos elsewhere.
  1. In Select community, choose the community the video belongs in and click Next.
Step 2: Choosing the new community for the video.

Rename a community or group

Genuin generates names for auto-curated communities and groups. If you don't like a generated name, edit it.

Rename from Activity

  1. In Activity, click the edit icon next to the generated name. A panel opens from the right.
  2. Change the name and details.

Rename from Manage

  1. Go to Manage > Communities, click ... on the community's row, and choose Edit Community.
Step 1: Edit a community from its row menu.
  1. For a group, go to Manage > Groups, click ... on the group's row, and choose Edit Group.
Step 2: Edit a group from its row menu.

Limitations

  • Less than 300 seconds and up to 2 GB per video, up to 100 files per import. The size check runs before upload. The duration check runs after it, so a long video uploads in full and then fails with "The video exceeds the maximum duration of 300 seconds."
  • One set of options per import. To caption some videos and not others, run two imports.
  • Title and smart crop are exclusive. With Smart crop on, Genuin skips the title overlay.
  • Background music isn't applied. The option is listed, but videos import without music.
  • Merge videos into clips isn't available. The option is disabled.
  • Schedules need at least 1 hour 30 minutes of lead time. An earlier time isn't accepted.
